DystopiaDystopia, the Story of Prison  Non-fiction

By Mike Oulton and Ed Griffin

Today Mike Oulton owns a business and has been out of prison for four years. But this crime-free life was not always so. He was arrested in Mexico for importing drugs and spent two years in Mexican prisons and eight years in Canadian prisons. Which do you think he liked better? You’ll be surprised.

Ed Griffin entered prison to cause a revolution. He figured that if he taught men how to write, they would tell the story of prison and the walls would come tumbling down. That’s not what happened.

Just discovered your blog. I’ve been doing some research on prisons and prison reform for a novel I’m writing, and was interested in reading Dystopia. Since I’m a bit budgeted out at the moment, the coupon would come in handy, but Smashwords says it’s either expired or invalid. Also, the link for Prisoners of the Williwaw is the one for Veto.

I’ll read the sample for Dystopia, and if it’s something I can use, I’ll be glad to pay for it when the budget eases up.

Thank you for your note Catana. I am totally surprised that you were unable to get these books. The coupon code is RE100. You go forward as if you were to buy the ebook and then they will ask you if you have a coupon. Enter the coupon and no problem then. I’ve been getting many many reports of people getting the books. Please try again. I think Dystopia will bring prison home to you because it is first person. And Prisoners is the story of what some inmates can do. Please let me know if you still have problems.

  2. […] Dystopia  I’ve only read the sample, but it looks good, and this is a subject I’m interested in: prison reform. The author teaches creative writing in a prison. […]

Hi Ed, I’m not sure what happened. Usually, if a Smashwords code doesn’t work, it’s because it’s expired or the author gave the wrong code. I must have tried again after my first comment, and gotten in because I do have the book now. Sorry if that sounds crazy, but I download (and buy) a lot of books, so I don’t remember the details of each. But I’ll be reading the book soon. Much thanks.
